Messi picked up a thigh injury in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao and was missing as Barca beat Inter Milan 2-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Barca looked to have landed a knockout blow to their nearest challengers after thrashing Madrid 6-2 at the Bernabeu last Saturday, a result that left Pep Guardiola’s side seven points clear with only four games remaining, as well as boasting the better head-to-head record between the two sides.

I don’t think it does though (get made out to be worse than it was), most people accept the fact that it was a red card and the standard 3 match ban. Some people think it was worse and vocalise it heavily, and some don’t think he should have got a 3 match ban – your usual difference of opinion in football.

Back on topic, I don’t think it was really a tackle It’s not really that much worse than you see in south america with people punching and launching flying kicks at the ref etc, or Shearer on Neil Lennon a few years back.
