Mark Hughes expects tonight’s UEFA Cup tie against FC Midtjylland to be far from an easy ride.

The maxim that ‘there are no easy games in football anymore’ may be a well-worn one, but the Blues’ boss is preparing for a hard-fought contest against a side that have yet to lose in the Danish season so far.

“It’s going to be a difficult game,” Hughes declares, “they are good opposition who are playing well at the moment and it will be a good test for us.

“It will not be the walkover that people might be in danger of thinking it is, they are a big, strong, physical side and we will have to match that.”
