Paul Scholes has been ruled out of Manchester United’s Premier League encounter with Sunderland at Old Trafford.
The veteran midfielder made his comeback from a knee injury in Wednesday’s Carling Cup win over Blackburn. Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed Scholes has suffered no reaction but he has decided to leave him on the sidelines.
Darren Fletcher (hamstring) is a doubt but should make it, allowing Ferguson to choose from a virtually full-strength squad.
